David Peter Dower spent most of his younger years absorbing all that South Africa’s nature had to offer. This childhood interest evolved into a passion that has moulded him into the knowledgeable and engaging African Travel Guide that he is today.

After meeting and marrying his wife, Tash – a well known chef, a product of the famous Grande Roches’ in house chef training programme, the two decided to team up as a lodge management couple. After many years of working in some of Southern Africa’s finest lodges, the time came to return to Cape Town and forge a new life that could now include raising a family of their own.

Being a guide, and having a passion for sharing his experiences with guests, Dave decided to continue to apply his trade in his beloved Cape Province, bringing his career full circle from where it all began.

Combining his love for guiding and his love for the awesome natural wonders of Cape Town makes for a rather unique experience. Knowing where all the hidden treasures are, the off-the-beaten-track if you like, has become somewhat of a quest.
