Chobe Boat Trip
I've just spent 10 magical days photographing some of the most important landmarks of Africa. The Victoria Falls in Zambia the Chobe River in Botswana and last but not least the Zambezi River and the Caprivi region of Namibia. The first 3 days were spent at the world famous Victoria Falls one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. Unfortunately it rained for almost 3 days straight but this didn't get in my way of photographing and enjoying the wildlife in the area.... read more

Leopard Photography
A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of guiding Jeff and Carol Derx from the UK on a 5 day safari. Jeff is an avid wildlife photographer and our target for the next 5 days was without a doubt to capture the perfect leopard image. On our first morning we set out early in hope of finding one of the numerous feline beauties that frequent the savannah habitat of the Southern part of our traversing area. Shortly after leaving, my tracker and friend Abraham Sibuyi found fresh tracks of a male leopard in the soft sandy soil in front of us.

Testimonials

Marius Coetzee is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced safari (field) guides I have met on my more than 30 trips to Africa.  His knowledge of the bush and ability to work with his tracker to find animals is unique and appreciated.  As an accomplished photographer, Marius knows how to position his vehicle to get the best photograph and has the patience to make sure that his guests see what they need.
In addition to his expertise in the bush, Marius has great people skills.  Not only has he mastered the art of managing a vehicle full of guests who may have different interests, but also how to manage the staff at Leopard Hills and to interact with all the guests.
Many of our clients schedule their vacations based on Marius’ availability, and are very sad when he is no there to guide them.  It is wonderful to have Marius to take care of our clients, and a great joy to be with him in the bush on our own safaris.

___________________________

I first met Marius Coetzee when he guided my group on a three day safari at Leopard Hills Lodge.  Since this time, I have sent a myriad of clients from Tzell Travel and Junction Africa Specialists.  The passion, flexibility, incredible planning and energy that Marius displayed made for the most exciting adventure that I have ever experienced.
His immense knowledge of fauna, flora and animal behavior is always amazing to my clients who have taken many trips to Africa.  They always return raving about Marius.  His creative ability to navigate off road driving, ensuring safety of habitat and tourists alike,  gracious relationship with his trackers and most important his respect for and love of animals, country and environment make him an incredible field guide.  He demonstrates great intuitive and leadership abilities as well amongst other guides and trackers in surrounding areas.
Marius has a sense of humor that is most unique and strives to relate to each person he is guiding in a very special way.  He manages to embrace all age and gender levels and develops a sense trust for each person he guides.    Marius is very considerate and his patience in attempting each time to introduce something new to those he guides on a daily basis is what clients marvel at.   He is astounding in his knowledge as a bird watching specialist and especially in the area of photography.   So many clients have commented that their photos have been greatly enhanced by his assistance in knowing the exact time to capture the essence of the moment on safari.
I still marvel at how Marius Coetzee treats each and every safari outing as a most magical experience.
