Kings Pool

Kings Pool is wonderfully situated on an oxbow lagoon, once part of the LinyantiRiver. This area is well known for the high density of predators, large herds of elephant, and incredible amounts of general game, which can often be viewed from all nine well-appointed canvas and thatch suites.

Each guest suite has a large bedroom, lounge, private plunge pool, sala, and en-suite bathroom with outdoor shower, which is an interesting way to view an elephant. The open-plan lounge, dining room and bar area is cleverly situated on a raised wooden platform, which overlooks Kings Pool itself, and makes a great vantage point over the water nearby. Busy with hippos, crocodiles, and fantastic birdlife, the constant action provides natural entertainment while enjoying the delicious pan-African cuisine. This camp is well managed, with fantastic staff all round, and makes for an outstanding bush camp experience.

Close by, two specially constructed wildlife hides present something a little different to the usual game viewing experience. The first, within walking distance, offers a chance to spend some quiet time, perhaps during a siesta, watching animals coming down to drink at the water. A short drive away is a sunken hide right at the water’s edge. There are few places where you’re able to watch the procession of elephants moving past almost within reach – a truly unique perspective from the ground up. Seasonal boat trips along the LinyantiRiver give yet another vastly different view of the tranquil papyrus-fringed waterways, magnificent bird life and beautiful scenery. With such a variety of activities on offer, you’ll be guaranteed plenty of superb all-round game viewing
