Deep within the prime wilderness area of South Luangwa National Park, overlooking the Luangwa River, Kaingo’s relaxed personal and friendly atmosphere offers fantastic game viewing in a region of incredible beauty and varied terrain.
“Kaingo” means leopard in Nyanja, the local language. There are few better areas in Africa to encounter this spectacular cat. In addition, Kaingo Camp is well known for its photographic opportunities and offers the keen photographer the chance to view and photograph wildlife from a number of specially-designed photographic hides. This is one of the attractions at Kaingo and allows a different angle and style of game viewing.
Each of the thatched rooms overlook the Luangwa River and have a private deck area that offers you the chance to just sit and enjoy the activity of the animals and birds that frequent the river and surrounding woodland.

There are few rivers in the world as impressive as the Zambezi River. For the next three days you will have access to this great watercourse by boat, as well as game drives and walks along the floodplains. Famous for its large relaxed elephant bulls that wander this area, the Zambezi floodplains also support most of Africa’s large and small game species. The possibility of photographing wildlife from dry land as well as from the river, adds another dimension to the safari.
